It is astounding how quickly we forget great things. Whether things we have done, experiences we have had, or people we know, the memory of them can fade in a matter of hours. While I can be particularly bad at remembering, I’m sure I am not alone. After all, that is why we build memorials, take photos on vacation, and send holiday cards.
At SoundView, we spend time each week as a team celebrating the things people do for clients and for each other. Without regular reminders, it’s easy to lose perspective or to forget just how much we benefit from one another.
As we wrap up the year, I want to highlight our team. Because clients tend to interact regularly with just a few of us, it can be easy to forget all the great people who are working together to serve you.
A Team Worth Remembering
Debbie has been with SVA and its predecessor firm for over 26 years! She has an immense amount of insight and demonstrates in every conversation how much she cares. She remembers a lot, not just facts but even more importantly, people. If you have ever met her, she remembers you and cares about you.
Kevin Rigg joined us in 2005. His natural analytical skills and attention to detail continue to improve the quality of work we deliver. He is a thoughtful person who never rushes past nuance to an “easy answer.” While this means he may spend much of his time “in the weeds,” he is always happy to pop his head up to teach, coach, and solve problems.
Ben came onboard in 2010. He constantly adds to his immense volume of knowledge, which he is always happy to share. His experience and insights have made a huge impact on our advisors and benefited all our clients. He brings a perspective shaped by experience, not just theory. He is great at slowing down to be sure he is interacting with you as a person, not a problem.
Sophea has been at SVA for 10 years. Her tenacity in understanding how systems work and getting things done for clients is legendary. She happily goes above and beyond to share her knowledge with others. She can effortlessly turn “this is complicated” into “I solved it”. Even with the most frustrating problems, she maintains a heart for the people she serves.
Nate also joined in 2016. He is not just the jack of all trades; he is the master of many. From technology to billing to compliance and beyond, he does more to keep SVA running than just about anyone. He helps our team do their best work, and our clients get the information they need. And he takes time to connect with each person individually.
Lisa joined SVA back in 2017. She has an incredible heart for people and seemingly endless energy to help them. Her enthusiasm and positivity glow on, even amid the most mundane work. She joyfully keeps us on schedule and handles the minutiae to make it so. Lisa makes people feel seen, helped, and unburdened.
Krista has been with us for nearly six years. You can tell she was once (and always) a teacher. She wants to understand things completely and wants to help others understand, too. She has become our visual aids coach and senior editor of this newsletter. She brings curiosity and is always seeking ways for us to provide even better outcomes for our clients.
Nichole joined us in 2022. She is insatiably curious and has a wide range of experience that she happily builds upon and shares. She thinks deeply about clients and how we can meet them where they are. She is supportive of our team and actively engages in improving what we deliver and training others to do the same.
Austin came onboard later that same year. He immediately contributed to technology conversions and took on portfolio trading. He is comfortable jumping into unfamiliar territory, quick to learn, and quick to ask questions. He is thoughtful and great at looking for ways to apply what he has learned. He is a great source of support and eager to take on more responsibility.
Angel is our most recent hire (2025) and has hit the ground running. She is learning quickly and having an impact by taking whatever she can off other people’s shoulders. As my Executive Assistant, she cheerfully keeps me accountable for doing what matters most. She is warm, enthusiastic, and pays close attention to our team and our clients.
We are blessed with an incredible team. We hope your experience with each one is wonderful and memorable!
